We have the opening track of ‘We Choose To Go To The Moon’ The new album from Philadelphia’s Revolution, I Love You.
Revolution, I Love You, like the 1968 Paris Student Uprising that inspired the band's name, is a volatile mix of impulses that come together in a joyous riot of sound. R,ILY’s is Rob Lindgren and Jason Reynolds – two men with enough ingenuity and fearless curiosity to create sophisticated and challenging music that you can't stop dancing to.
They sequestered themselves for more than two years drawing inspiration from 20th century French philosophy, a radical world-view and music of all types. Lindgren and Reynolds destabilized their own preconceived notions of rock and pop, creating music that synthesizes common genres into a collage of sound. The songs have a sense of urgency arising from electric fuzz and hypnotic guitar loops.
We Choose to Go to the Moon, the debut full-length album from Revolution, I Love You, is an experiment in pop music. The songs are often personal, making their anthemic treatment all the more interesting. Lead singer Rob Lindgren pleads for forgiveness over a Phil Spector-styled wall of sound on "Graceful Steps".
