When Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport closed in 2008 the Rhythm Monks brought their operation to its new home in the basement underneath the terminal.
They are technicians of ecstasy, modern shamans, mystics. At the same time, they are part of modern Berlin's art scene. They have now surfaced again with new music and videos that tell their story.

The name Candomblé means 'dance in honour of the gods' and features the rhythm of orixa Ogun. The Monks invited Candomble priest Murah Soares for this special ritual performance to their basement at Tempelhof.
The Rhythm is the heart of mystery. Rhythm is movement, current, change, renovation and repetition. Our experience of time bases itself on Rhythm. Nothing exists without oscillation, without movement. Everything vibrates, everything "speaks" a universe of Rhythms. The Rhythm Monks are Masters, searching to understand the fundamental essence of the Drum.
The worldwide connection between Rhythm and Ritual exists as powerfully in the present as it has in the past. The Rhythm Monks study the Power of Rhythm, which has a great influence on the spirit and body of the human being. Explore what the Drum does do to you, explore the Rhythm.
